FIRST YEAR CONNECTIONS

First Year Connections (FYC)了解，对于一年级学生来说，从高中到大学的过渡期间，在校园里导航可能会很困难. 我们的目标是帮助一年级学生通过同伴互动在课堂内外建立联系, guidance and support.

  1. Log in to your MyCalStateLA portal. Click on the GET icon. Select ‘Self-Service’, then go to ‘Student Center’.
  2. Click on the ‘Early Start Course’ link at the top left under 'Academic' on your GET page. 在这里，您将确认您的早期开始课程的参与，并通知您是否可以获得费用减免.
  3. After selecting Cal State LA, you will be directed to a confirmation page. Click ‘Confirm Early Start Selection 你应该被重定向到你的最后确认，其中有一个链接到Enroll in Early Start’ will appear.

  5. Select the 'Enroll in Early Start' button located at the bottom of the page. 可能会出现经济援助豁免弹出消息，通知您经济援助豁免资格(可能会更改), based on EFC).
  6. You should now be on the 'Add Classes' page. Click on the Search button
  7. In the subject box, enter the appropriate course to add, ESC for English or ESM for math. In the box right below, enter the 课程编号(见您的信:1090、1082或1005A).  Then click ‘Search’. 
  8. 球场列表应该显示一个绿色圆圈，表示该球场已开放, and seats are available. Make the selection that best fits your schedule. 'Select’ the course and then click ‘Next’ to continue. 
  9. For math, repeat steps to add lab (ESM 90 or 82 )
  10. Review your selection and "Proceed to Step 2 of 3". Select 'Finish Enrolling'.

ESM 1090和ESM 90:早期开始定量推理与统计(8周)  

ESM 1090和ESM 90适用于非理工科专业的新生. 这是统计学和数据分析的入门课程，使用定量推理和数学概念进行解释, 包括理解基础研究数据的描述性和推断性统计和分析方法, 在现实生活中应用于教育和人类服务. Students in ESM 1090 must also enroll in ESM 90, 一门为学生提供额外支持的必修课程. Classes will be held in-person.

课程学分:通过ESM 1090将获得3个学分，并满足GE Block B4的要求. ESM 1090 is graded ABC-/NC. ESM 90不计入大学学分或学位，等级为CR/NC.
 

ESM 1082和ESM 82早期微积分预备课程:函数(8周)

ESC 1005A Early Start Composition

ESC 1005A是一个为期六周的暑期课程，旨在帮助第一次参加大学写作课程的学生取得成功. Working with a supportive professor, 你将有机会探索批判性阅读的新策略, research, 写作可以为你将来的大学课程打下坚实的基础. 通过与像你一样的同龄人交流和合作，你会发展你的写作优势. 

课程学分:通过本课程，您将获得3个学分，并在秋季学期进入下一级英语课程(ENGL 1005B)。. Graded: ABC-, NC

 

  • 每个单位的费用为191美元，加上强制性的一次性卫生设施费用1美元和学生会费用1美元.

    • 申请经济援助且学生援助指数(SAI)为6的加州居民,000或以下(在注册时)将有资格获得每单位费用的豁免, the Health Facilities fee and the Student Union fee.

  • Refund Procedure and 2023 Proration Schedule, visit the One-Stop Financial Services Office website.

  • To pay online, please log on to your MyCalStateLA student portal and select Transact from the Quick Launch menu. You can also access the link directly here.
